MiM 2017 Pre-Programme Courses

The Pre-Course Programme is made up of two elements: The Online and the On-Campus element.

Whilst the Online element is mandatory for the whole of the class, the On-campus is not.

If the Admissions Team have told you that taking the pre-programme courses is a mandatory condition as part of your offer then please register interest for the on campus courses.

You can find a brief below as well as more detailed information on the flyer here:

Online:  Anti -Plagiarism Course - Mandatory

All students are required to complete an anti-plagiarism course to ensure you understand the correct methods of paraphrasing, referencing and citation. This course will help you to complete assignment with correct referencing and avoid unintentional plagiarism.

You must complete this course by Friday 2nd September, before the start of the course.

  • Click on register and complete the form - IMPORTANT - users can register using their @london.edu email.

  • Once registration is complete, you can log in. You will be shown a range of course programmes. The one you have access to is the above.

Online:  Pre-Work for Leadership in Organisations - Mandatory

For your Leadership in Organisations core course you are required to complete the NEO PO-R prior to the start of the course.

The NEO PI-R, the gold-standard questionnaire measure of the Five Factor Model (FFM), provides a detailed personality description that can be a valuable resource for a variety of professionals.

You must complete this by Monday 29 August.

Please find instructions and login details for the course here.

Online: Financial Accounting & Finance Courses- Mandatory

The Financial Accounting & Finance Online Pre-Courses are accessed through the link shown in the flyer.

These courses are mandatory and you are required to complete the designated work prior to Sunday 11 September 2016, 23:29 (UK Time.)  If you have not studied Accounting or Finance before we would encourage you to take your time and begin early.

There are also two optional online courses in Business Mathematics and Spreadsheets which you have the opportunity to access at an additional cost.

How will scores from the online course impact your final LBS Grade?

The scores from the online Finance course will have no impact on your actual course grades. The scores will simply indicate to the Faculty (and yourself) the level you are starting on and what in particular you find more challenging.

For the FA course however, if you fail to complete the pre-test and sections 1-5 before the deadline stated above, your overall participation grade for FA will be negatively impacted.

Both courses should be completed with relevant tests taken by 11th September 2016.

On-Campus

The on-campus pre-programme sessions led by Teaching Assistants will include Accounting, Business statistics (Management Analysis & Systems) and Finance for those without a quantitative or business background.

Please note that due to limited space - the programme office cannot guarantee a place to every signee and will prioritise those who most closely meet the requirements.

The deadline for registering your interest for the on campus pre-programme sessions was Friday 29 July 2016, 09:00 (UK Time.)

We will inform students who have obtained a place by Friday 5 August 2016.

Please note: If you do not receive an email from Gloria Nsubuga (Programme Manager) by Friday 5 August, this means that you did not obtain a place and will therefore not be able to attend the session/s.

You can contact Gloria if you have any further questions regarding the pre-courses.
