Mentoring

As part of your Personal Development Programme we have a very exciting opportunity to a have mentors from the current MBA and MiF classes, and we encourage you to make the most of this opportunity!

Last year over 200 MBAs and MiFs volunteered to mentor MiMs. This is one of the best ways to integrate into the School community and get invaluable career advice.

What should the mentor/mentee relationship cover?

  • A mentee gets support and guidance from the mentor while he/she is at the School and the mentor can possibly prepare his/her mentee for future roles.

  • The mentoring relationship is based on mutual trust and respect and so is likely to take time to develop.

  • Don’t expect your mentor to be perfect - your mentor cannot be expected to be an expert on everything.

  • The agenda is set by you, the mentee, and the format can be more informal, with meetings taking place as and when the mentored individual needs some guidance and/or support.

  • A mentor should ask you questions and challenge you, while providing guidance and encouragement.
